New Rule Instated

So, let us review. Rule number one, No complaining about the weather. I have done really well with that one. Rule number two, No more complaining about race logistics.  And since that rule has been instated I have done well.  New rule number three.  I am not allowed, under any condition, to jump my bicycles off of, on to, over or across anything.

That is pretty embarrassing, but I am completely okay, minus some little scrapes on my right leg. The Gatto's, The Mountain Goat, a few MARS junior riders, Tim, Beth, a few other people and myself all went out this morning to do some spring trail maintenance in the south suburbs. It was a few hard hours behind the rake and building some log piles. I am super excited to ride out there with them once things dry up. There was this set of doubles, and the first try went okay, but I hit it the second time way too fast, threw a dead sailor and went over the bars hard. About thirty seconds of having the wind knocked out of me and I was climbing up the hill pretty dirty. We were able to enjoy the fruits of our labor on a lap through some of the trail. Like I said, it is going to be amazing in a few weeks and I can not wait to ride out there.

Tom & I apparently left with our little guy too early because I missed your acrobatics. Glad you're ok. Did anyone get pics? = )

Knowing that you're okay, I couldn't help but keep playing that over and over and chuckling every time whoever was filming you kept going, "Shit."

I'm also drugged out on Benadryl right now which probably contributes to that.

Instead make the rule that you're not allowed to jump stuff after doing 4-5 hours of trail work and getting all tired out before hand.

oh man... glad to hear you are okay

and i'm one of the ones who watched it over and over...

"oh shit" click play repeat...

entertaining!!!! (i was sooooooo close to doing that last week - but my landing would have been on big pointy rocks)

Apparently your shoulder is feeling better. Had you been wearing really baggy pants, unlaced shoes and a trucker hat turned sideways you probably would have landed it.

i can only laugh at that because i know you're okay.

yeah, I watched it over and over too. Glad I knew ahead of time you were alright. I was laughing, but also wincing each time I thought of that sore shoulder hitting the ground...

Hmm, I looked at the pic mentioned above - looks like you had good company crashing out there - see p. 62 where your crash sequence is

BEN!!! i cant stop laughing after mom made me watch this... you would think with all the years of building jumps in the woods over here you could have landed that without a problem... nice job slick!!
